The National Trust for Historic Preservation announced the 2008 theme of "This Place Matters" in an effort to celebrate and call attention to the diverse and irreplaceable heritage of this country. Missouri Preservation will celebrate the month by announcing its 2008 Most Endangered Historic Places list in May. It will focus on the importance of preserving these special places and why they matter to our nation's heritage. Watch for opportunities to celebrate throughout the state, where local organizations will hold a variety of tours and celebrations of the local culture and architecture.
